Car hire Terms and Conditions in the United Kingdom
1car1 / Enterprise CAR RENTAL UK TERMS & CONDITIONS
Inclusions
Price includes Unlimited Kms, VAT, Damage Liability Waiver
(DLW) with Excess, Premium Location Fee (PLF), Vehicle Licence Fee (VLF),
Theft Protection (TLW), Road Fund License (RFL), Breakdown cover and No One
way Fee for hires over 6 days.
Grace Period 29 minutes any hire returned after this time will incur
an extra days charge.
Deposits
1CAR1 Rent-A-Car requires that each customer provide a deposit
before the start of a rental. This will be £150 for vehicles within Enterprise’s A-E
classification, £250 for MPVS, £500 for premium cars.
The deposit is taken and released at the end of hire if no
damage occurs.
Excluded costs
Excluded in the rental charge is Personal accident insurance,
Deposits, Fuel, out of hour's charges, optional extras such as Additional
driver, child seats, GPS, and excess waiver.
Additional Services
Additional extras to the rental are
arranged and payable locally at time of hire.

Child Seats
Child seats are not available for one way rentals they must return
to the original location.
Child seats are £8.00 per day maximum of £56.00 per seat per rental
payable locally on arrival and subject to availability.
Please provide child age at time of booking in the additional notes
field.
Please note that for legal reasons, drivers are responsible for
fitting all child seats.

GPS
GPS units are available at all Branches for £10 per day payable
locally.
GPS is not available for one way rentals.
Subject to availability.

Insurance excess reduction: You have the option
to reduce the excess on your hire vehicle at a cost of £10 per day. Payable
locally.
*Please note: the excess cannot be reduced
completely.
Damage Waiver
Damage Waiver coverage relieves the Customer from the full cost of the
vehicle in the event of an accident (an excess of £600 - £1,000 depending
on the vehicle will still apply).
Vehicle groups:

A to E - £600 excess
·
F-MPV and all vans - £750 excess
·
Premium Cars and 4X4s £1,000excess
This is not taken unless damage or accident occurs. A bond is taken
on arrival for £150.00.
Excess Reduction
Excess protection can be purchased at time of hire from the local
Branch for £10 per day.
Vehicle groups:
A to E: £600 excess – Reduces to £100 excess.
F-MPV and all vans: £750 excess Reduces to £250 excess.
Please note: excess cannot be reduce to 0.
One-Way Rental Charge
One-way rentals throughout the UK. For hires over 6 days one
way fee is included in the Rental Cost. Hires fewer than 6 days will
incur a standard charge of $24 per rental, pre paid in Australia.
This charge will be added to the Rental Cost as time of booking or when
vehicle is returned to another location than Prebooked.
AGE / Young Driver Fee
Age restrictions are: A to B - 23 and over, C and
above - 25 and over, No upper Limit. All renters must be over the age of
25. However 23-24 year-old renters will pay a young driver surcharge
of £10.50 per day and will be authorised to drive up to a Class B (or
economy-size) vehicle. Payable locally.
FREE Pick up and Return
Free client collection from
their locations back to the local depot.
Address must be provided at time of booking and clients are to call
the local branch 60 mins before hires starts to confirm collection.
Enterprise rent-a-car also offer free client return once
vehicle has been returned to the local depot.
Travel outside of the UK
Vehicles cannot currently travel from mainland UK into Europe or Ireland.
Documents and Identification
Drivers must be 25 years of age (23-24 subjects to terms) and must
be able to produce the following documents:
* Full current Driving licence Driving License (if UK
License: both photo and counterpart)
* Passport (utility bill for UK residents) as second form of
identification.
* Major Debit or Credit Card in the main driver’s
name.
Extra Drivers must also produce full current licence and are subject
to the above conditions.
Drivers Licence
Drivers must produce a full,
valid licence held for at least two years before the commencement of each
rental. Provisional or Learners Licence are not accepted.
All International hirers from a non-EU country must provide a
readable unexpired licence from their country of origin.
If the license is not in
English, an international driving licence Permit must be provided along
with your driving license from country of origin and must be backed up with
a passport.
US, Canada, South Africa, Australia
and New Zealand
are exempt.
*Please note: It is the driver's responsibility to ensure that
he/she has the appropriate driving licence.
No refunds will be given for rentals rejected due to incorrect
licence.
Flight information
If arriving at an airport locations please
provide flight details in case of delayed flights.
Fuel
Fuel full tank If the vehicle is returned with the same level
of fuel as delivered, then there is no refuelling charge payable. If not,
the cost of any fuel used to match the original level noted at the
beginning of the rental, will be charged at pump prices plus 20%.
N.B. Fuel prices will be reviewed on a monthly basis.
Car type / suitability
The vehicle type shown on your voucher is for guidance only and may
be substituted for an alternative, similar or upgraded car (at no extra
cost). If you are dissatisfied in any way with the standard of the car, you
must advise us immediately in writing within 30 days of your return. The
Company cannot accept liability where this procedure is not followed.
Cancellation and Amendments
All cancellations must be in writing within 7 days before commencing
hire, Failure to do so will result in a "No Show" and no refund
will be given.
Bookings cancelled less than 7 days are charged 1 day rental.
No shows are non refundable.
Pricing Fluctuations
Rental Charges are seasonal and may be subject to change without
prior notice. All reservations received prior to a pricing change will be
honoured at their original rate.
Traffic Offence Administration
If during the hire period a traffic offence is incurred and not declared
to 1 CAR 1, the driver(s)'s will be charged a £25.00 administration
fee for any information requested by the Issuing Authority and will remain
liable to pay for all fines and charges. * The administration fee
does not cover the traffic offence charges.
Congestion (Toll) Charges
Vehicles are not exempt from congestion charges within central London. Driving or
parking in the congestion charging zone incurs a daily charge of
£8.00, or £10 if the charge is paid after the charging day. This payment
will allow you to enter, as many times as you wish that day.
Congestion Charging operates Mon-Fri 7.00am to 6.30pm ex. public
holidays.
There are no toll booths; drivers must register the vehicle number plate
with Transport of London.
Payments can be made either online at www.cclondon.com, by
telephone on 0845 900 1234, by SMS text message, at self service machines,
selected petrol stations, selected retail outlets, BT internet kiosks, or
by post.
If the congestion charge is not paid by midnight
the following charging day, enterprise will be sent a Penalty Charge
Notice. Enterprise,
by law MUST provide the name and address of the hirer of the vehicle
when the contravention occurred.
PLEASE NOTE: The (PCN) Penalty Charge Notice WILL BE £100.00 as with
parking penalties, this is reduced to £50 if payment is made within 14
days. Failure to pay the penalty charge within 28 days will result in the
penalty being increased to £150.
If Enterprise is
sent a penalty notice from Transport for London, THERE WILL BE A CHARGE OF £25 to
the client. This is a standard administration fee charged to all customers
in these circumstances. Enterprise
process the £25 on the renter’s credit card. The signature
on a rental contract gives full authorisation for applicable credit card
charges to be processed by Enterprise Rent-A-Car for all Traffic Violations
incurred during the rental.

Breakdown Procedure
In the unlikely event of a vehicle suffering mechanical breakdown
during office hours, customers should contact the relevant breakdown
recovery company.
The contact number will be found on the Rental Agreement. Contact
should also be made with the nearest depot location by calling 0870 350
3000.
The employee will then provide advice to the customer and ensure
that a replacement vehicle is dispatched as soon as possible.
In the event of a mechanical breakdown occurring, out of normal office
hours customers should contact the breakdown recovery company. The contact
number can be found on the Rental Agreement.
If the vehicle is unable to be repaired quickly, then the recovery
company can:
• Take the customer to their final destination if Recovery Plus is in
place.
• Contact their control and establish if the customer qualifies for a
48-hour
replacement vehicle under the terms of the contract agreed between the
manufacturer, 1 CAR 1, and the recovery company.
To obtain breakdown assistance whilst using an Enterprise
vehicle abroad (prior notice required), the customer will need to call one
of the following numbers:
00 800 42 43 44 or 04 72 17 12 03 in France, and/or
00 33 472 17 12 03 from any other European mainland location.
The person calling will also need to provide the following information:
• That Enterprise Rent-A-Car is the owner of the vehicle
• The Make, Model and Registration Number of the vehicle
• The Fleet Europe Membership Number’ which is
3413929.
Procedure in the Event of a Motor Incident
In the unfortunate event that an Enterprise Rent-A-Car vehicle is
involved in an accident during office hours, customers should contact the
breakdown recovery company.
The contact number can be found on the Rental Agreement. Contact
should also be made with the nearest Enterprise Rent-A-Car location by
calling 0870 350 3000.
The Employee will then establish the circumstances surrounding the incident
and advise the customer further.
In the event of an accident occurring out of normal office hours, the
customer should contact the breakdown recovery company.
The contact number can be found on the Rental Agreement. The
recovery company is responsible for making provisions to ensure the
customer is taken to their final destination.
The vehicle will then be taken to the nearest recommended repairer.
Complaints
If you have a problem during you rental, please inform us
immediately so that we can endeavour to put things right. 1car1 will not
hold themselves responsible for the non-performance of anything that is
beyond their control or when they are not notified of a problem at the
point when remedial action can be taken. In the unlikely event that a
complaint cannot be resolved at the time, you should write to our Customer
Services Department within 30 days of the issue arising.

If you fail to take any of these steps this will hinder our ability
to put any problem right and/or investigate it fully and any right you may
have to receive compensation will be reduced or completely invalidated.
General conditions
All bookings by our clients are subject to our terms and conditions
as detailed on the Rental Agreement. No other terms, conditions and
warranties, expressed or implied by law, custom and course of dealing shall
form part of any contract between 1car1 and our clients except for those
terms implied by law whose application is mandatory. The client
acknowledges that in making a booking with 1car1 it does so only on the
basis of the material contained in this document. All other statements or
representations made by 1car1, its employees, or agents are of no effect
unless confirmed by us to the client in writing. You should satisfy
yourself that you understand and agree to its terms and conditions as you
will be subject to, and must comply with these terms. 1car1 reserves the
right to levy any government increase in GST that may be introduced after
the production of this document. 1car1 liability to the client for any
loss, damage, injury or accident whatsoever, whether arising out of
negligence, breach of contract or any other cause shall not exceed $2000 or
twice the invoiced price of rental of the vehicle concerned (whichever is
greater) provided that nothing in this clause shall limit 1car1liability
for death or personal injury caused by its negligence. This does not affect
your statutory rights as a consumer. 1car1 will not be held responsible for
anyone driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs, causing wilful damage,
off road driving or driving without due care and attention. The client will
indemnify 1car1 against this in respect of such claims this list is not
exclusive.
